This TRI RFA is soliciting applications for its Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Postdoctoral Fellowships will be competitively awarded in any laboratory in the U.S. conducting biomedical/biotechnological research aligned with TRI’s mission and goals (Section A). Applications will be screened for compliance and undergo a scientific/technical peer-review by an external peerreview committee consisting of a number of eminent scientists that are familiar with space biomedical/biotechnological research.

Awarded annually to an early career researcher who has achieved an outstanding research record within 12 years of being awarded their PhD. Years may be added to this total in respect to substantive reasons, which could include maternity/paternity leave, long-term sickness, or similar reasons.
Nominations for the 2017 Fleming Prize are now open. Please submit all nomination documention to appointments@microbiologysociety.org no later than 31 July 2016.

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has launched a new competition, 100&Change, to fund one $100M proposal designed to solve a critical problem of our time, affecting people, places or the planet. [Note from MacArthur press release: "Every three years, we plan to award $100 million to help make one of these solutions a reality."] The competition is open to any field or endeavor.

The Foundation was established in 1922 to provide for the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of people afflicted with tuberculosis. It also supported the eradication of tuberculosis, and provided fellowship programs for physicians. Today’s focus is only on lung, tuberculosis, blood oxygen research, and/or equipment. Applicants should submit a detailed description of the project and the amount of funding requested. Most awards go to colleges and universities. The Foundation does not award funds for endowments or matching gifts. The Foundation reviews proposals twice a year.

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation’s Synergy Award is designed to encourage collaboration among health researchers from across disciplines to advance the study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). It funds groundbreaking or unconventional methodologies, whose risky outlook is justified by the possibility of a major breakthrough.
Basic Science: If your research proposal is rooted in basic science, we encourage you to collaborate with investigators who can further the potential for translation of your ideas and findings.

The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program awards five women postdoctoral scientists annually with grants of $60,000 each for their contributions in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields and commitment to serving as role models for younger generations. The program is the U.S. component of the L'Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Fellowships. Celebrating its twelfth year in the U.S., the For Women in Science program has awarded 60 postdoctoral women scientists nearly $3 million in grants.

Graduate Women in Science is proud to offer The GWIS National Fellowships Program 2017 to increase knowledge in the natural sciences and to encourage research careers in the sciences by women.
