The cross-campus Academic Integration Initiative aims to advance the research and discovery efforts across the Cornell community by promoting and enhancing collaborations between the Cornell Ithaca campus, and the Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) and Cornell Tech campuses in New York City. By drawing on the outstanding and diverse work of Cornell colleagues based in Ithaca and New York City, the strength and impact of research across Cornell will be elevated to the next level of eminence.

The Career Guidance for Trainees (CGT) program provides grants of $30,000 to $50,000 over a one-year period to support demonstration projects that will model affordable, transferable approaches to improving trainees’ readiness for stable, fulfilling careers.
Please note: This program does not support biomedical research projects proposed by individual investigators.

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is offering a second round of the Physician-Scientist Institutional Awards (PSIA) program which was instituted in 2017 to increase the number of single degree M.D.’s who enter research. One-Step full application submission will be used with proposals due February 15, 2019.

Fellows will receive funding for their postdoctoral training and may continue to receive funding during their early career years as independent faculty. The program includes opportunities for career development, including mentoring and active involvement in the HHMI scientific community. The Institute will select and support up to 15 fellows in this competition. This grant competition is open to all eligible applicants and no nomination is required. The competition opens September 12, 2018.

The Brocher Foundation offers visiting researchers the opportunity to come at the Brocher Centre in a peaceful park on the shores of Lake Geneva, to write a book, articles, an essay or a PhD thesis. The visiting positions are an occasion to meet other researchers from different disciplines and countries as well as experts from numerous International Organizations & Non Governmental Organizations based in Geneva, such as WHO, WTO, WIPO, UNHCR, ILO, WMA, ICRC, and others.
The Brocher Foundation residencies last between 1 and 4 months.

The goal of amfAR's Mathilde Krim Fellowships in Basic Biomedical Research is to:
- Facilitate the exceptional postdoctoral researcher's transition to an independent career in HIV/AIDS research within an academic institution or nonprofit organization
- Support two years of postdoctoral basic biomedical research (phase I)
- Provide the possibility of one additional year of research funding during the first year of an independent research position (phase II)

Purpose:
The THRIVE grant program is designed to provide seed funding to investigators for the testing of initial hypotheses and collecting of preliminary data to help secure long-term funding by the National Institutes of Health and/or other major granting institutions.
Funding:
Funding is available in the range of US$20,000 to US$50,000 for up to 24 months of direct costs. A maximum of 5 awards for 2016 are anticipated.
