New Policy

OSRA has issued a new policy on the Disclosure of Other Support for Researchers. The policy establishes institutional requirements for the disclosure of Other Support and aligns with federal research security requirements, sponsor expectations, and institutional compliance obligations.

Why This Policy Matters?

Federal agencies have increased their focus on research security, transparency, and accurate disclosure of research support, affiliations, commitments, and collaborations. This policy provides a consistent institutional framework to help ensure compliance with these requirements while supporting the integrity of WCM's research enterprise.

Key Requirements

Under this policy:
  • Researchers must provide complete, accurate, and timely disclosure of Other Support whenever required by a sponsor. This includes active and pending support, and when required, prior support.

  • Disclosures may include support provided through domestic and foreign institutions, professional appointments, collaborations, and qualifying in-kind contributions.

  • Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators, Key Personnel, and others designated by a sponsor are subject to these disclosure requirements.

  • Disclosures may be required at proposal submission, Just-in-Time, prior to award issuance, during progress reporting, and whenever previously omitted information is identified.

  • Participation in a Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program (MFTRP) is prohibited.

Annual Research Security Training Requirement

In support of federal research security requirements, all individuals participating in federally sponsored research who are subject to this policy must complete Research Security Training (RST) annually. The required training is available through CITI and intended to promote awareness of research security, disclosure, and transparency requirements.
The new policy is available here and has been posted on the OSRA website under Policies & Procedures.
