Program Details: The Nancy M. and Samuel C. Fleming Research Scholar Award in Intercampus Collaborations was established through a generous commitment to provide endowed funding to outstanding scientists who are building independent research programs. Income from the RSA endowment will allow talented junior investigators the support needed to more thoroughly engage in advancing their research programs.
The Fleming RSA in Intercampus Collaborations welcomes nominations with a preference for supporting a Weill Cornell faculty member engaged in collaborative research in biomedical engineering on Cornell University’s Ithaca campus. Additional eligibility criteria are listed below.
Number of Awards: 1
Level of Support: ~$40,000/year for 3 years; with an opportunity for 3 additional years contingent on satisfactory progress.
Eligibility
- Full-time Assistant or Associate Professor with an independent research program.
- Cannot concurrently hold another internal endowed award
- Candidates with institutional or Dean-level start-up funds are not eligible. Please note that faculty with start-up funds provided by the department are eligible to apply.
Application Requirements
- Letter of Nomination from the Chair of Department of Head of Division (1-2 pages)
- Statement from the nominee describing their research background, current research efforts, and future goals (1-2 pages). Include:
- A brief description of the collaborative project in biomedical engineering on Cornell University’s Ithaca campus
- A statement about how this award will help them to achieve their future research objectives
- Updated Biosketch
