AACR Gastric Cancer Research Fellowships represent a joint effort to encourage and support postdoctoral or clinical research fellows to conduct gastric cancer research and to establish a successful career path in this field. The research proposed for funding may be basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to gastric cancer. Projects may focus on any form of gastric cancer. This grant program will offer the follwing fellowships for 2018:
1) Debbie's Dream Foundation-AACR Gastric Cancer Research Fellowship, in memory of Sally Mandel
2) AACR-No Stomach For Cancer Gastric Cancer Research Fellowship
These fellowships provide $50,000-$55,000 over one year to support the salary and benefits of a fellow while working on mentored gastric cancer research. A partial amount of the funds may be designated for non-personnel expenses, such as research/laboratory supplies, equipment, publication charges for manuscripts that pertain directly to the funded project, and other research expenses. Recipients will apply using a $55,000 budget; if awarded the lower amount, budget revisions will be requested.
