Joint COVID-19 Summit

On November 4th and 5th, 2020 we will hold a COVID-19 Summit between all campuses of Cornell University. Hosted by a joint venture between the Office for Academic Integration, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, and the Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Research at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), this event will feature speakers in the life, physical, engineering, and social sciences. Topics include: 

  • Molecular virology and pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 infection
  • Host immunology in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection
  • COVID-19 clinical outcomes and health disparities
  • Variations in host responses to SARS-CoV-2
  • Lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and pandemic preparedness
  • One health perspectives and animal-to-human transmission of novel pathogens
  • COVD-19 public policy
  • Data science advances for understanding and managing the pandemic
  • Vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics 

The Event will consist of multiple speaker sessions over two days, with concurrent poster sessions on November 4th, and a Breakout session on November 5th. The Breakout session will be a panel-led discussion that focuses on opportunities for collaboration and the possible development of a Center grant application to the NIH. All sessions will be via Zoom.  

All members of the Cornell community are encouraged to attend.
