Dannon - Gut Microbiome Fellowship

Deadline Date:
February, 2018

The Dannon Company is accepting applications for its Dannon Gut Microbiome, Yogurt and Probiotics Dannon Fellowship Grant program.

Established in 2012, the program has expanded to include the gut microbiome in recognition of its remarkable potential on the human body — including immune health, brain health, and proper digestion and absorption. To date, the program has supported research on the use of foods as a delivery vector for beneficial bacteria, technology for studying the adaptation of fermentative microbes to milk, the effects of protein fermentation on the human microbiota and digestive health, and the relationship between probiotics, the gut microbiome and brain function.

Through the program, two $25,000 grants will be awarded to graduate students who show strong interest in exploring yogurt, probiotics, and the gut microbiome's role in promoting human health.

To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of the United States; a current full-time graduate student; and studying probiotics and the gut microbiome during the 2017-18 academic year at an accredited institution in the U.S.

See the Dannon website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
