Number of Applications: 1 application from WCM (not including Ithaca)

Program Description

  • WCM is a named beneficiary of the Alice Bohmfalk Charitable Trust.
  • The grant supports a “specified medical research project”. Support can be for a new unfunded project.
  • Clear path towards extramural funding (R01) desired
  • Bohmfalk support is typically awarded to PIs that have exhausted their start-up funds (thus more typically mid-career rather than junior PIs), or who have received minimal start-up funds.  The need basis needs to be clearly spelled out.
  • Faculty with start-up funds will need to strongly justify a grant request.

Eligibility

All faculty are eligible to apply.

Application Requirements

WCM is limited to submitting 1 nominee. Due to this restriction, and internal competiion is being organized. Department Chairs/Division Chiefs/Institute Directors may submit no more than two internal nominations from their department/division/institute.

Note: Chairs/Division Heads submitting more than one nomination must comment on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the two nominees. Send the candidates' comparison summary by email to researchdean@med.cornell.edu by the internal deadline indicated above.
