Gilead welcomes funding requests for innovative, high-impact projects that relate to at least one of five core therapeutic areas: HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, hematology and oncology, inflammatory and respiratory diseases, and cardiovascular conditions. We consider a number of factors when reviewing grants, but it is most important for applications to demonstrate a strong commitment to — and capacity for — delivering the specific services your funded grant would support.

The Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation (FCF) is accepting proposals to support innovative research, leading to curative treatments for this aggressive teen/young adult liver cancer. Importantly, ASCO and other major organizations have noted that investigators should take high interest in this cancer as, due to patient age, this is a relatively simple cancer, i.e. few mutations, which potentially allows applications to other diseases as well.

From life-saving vaccines to sustainable energy development, science is making the world better for everyone. We know that jobs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) are the jobs of tomorrow, but today, women only make up 24 percent of STEM workers in the United States, only 14 percent of the country’s engineers and 27 percent of computer science professionals. Without appropriate female representation, the potential STEM innovations of tomorrow will be missing half of the talent in our world.
