As per notice NOT-OD-17-094, NIH K awardees may now commit effort to and receive salary from other federal grants outside of the K award.
Supplementation of salary to cover committed effort on K awards can come from non-Federal and internal sources only, and cannot interfere with activities on the K award nor require additional responsibilities.
For the remaining 23% effort left to commit elsewhere, the K awardee may now commit effort to and receive compensation from both Federal and Non-Federal sources, as long the specific aims of the other supporting grant(s) differ from those of the K award.
