DePuy Synthes Companies support educational programs such as continuing medical education (CME) events hosted by accredited providers, non-CME events that do not permit “off-label” discussion of DePuy Synthes Companies products, tuition/travel grants for physicians in training (Fellows and residents), grand rounds and journal clubs. Each request is individually evaluated for compliance with education grant criteria, available budget and alignment with the Company’s mission. Education grants are not contingent upon the use, purchase, or recommendation of DePuy Synthes Companies products. Tuition/Travel Grants

Tuition/travel grants are available to academic institutions and medical centers and are intended to help offset the cost of conference attendance for physicians in training. Applications cannot be considered for events that have already taken place.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Academic medical centers, hospitals, and government agencies apply on behalf of their physicians in-training
  • A Fellow/resident is eligible to receive one tuition/travel grant per calendar year
  • One application should be used to register multiple Fellows/residents for the same course

 

Educational Events Eligible for Tuition/Travel Grant Consideration and Criteria:

  • Appropriate educational conferences such as major educational or scientific meetings of national, regional, or specialty medical associations.

 

Payment:

  • Tuition/travel grants are capped at a predetermined dollar amount based on the course. Limit of one grant per physician in training, per calendar year.
  • All checks will be made payable to the institution as listed on the W-9

 

Required Documents:

  • Mandatory Form for Tuition and Travel (available for download once you create request)
  • Tuition/travel budget, with a breakout of tuition and estimated travel expenses per person, and total funding requested
  • Course brochure/agenda
  • W-9 (signed and dated within the current year)

 

 

Education Grants

Education grants support third-party medical education programs for U.S.-Based Health Care Professionals and Entities (HCPEs), including accredited and unaccredited programs, that relate to disease states, conditions, and treatments relevant to Company’s interests. Grants may be monetary, gifts in kind, or both.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Academic medical centers, hospitals, medical societies/professional associations, governmental agencies, and patient advocacy groups

 

Educational Events Eligible for Education Grant Consideration and Criteria:

  • Accredited and non-accredited educational events in which DePuy Synthes companies are not involved in the development of course content or faculty selection
  • Applications with all supporting documentation must be received at least 45 days in advance of the event

 

Required Documents:

  • Mandatory Form for Education Grants (available for download once you create request)
  • Event budget, including specific amount requested
  • Agenda with topics, faculty, location/venue, date and times
  • Current accreditation certification (if accredited event)
  • W-9, signed and dated within the current year
