The Thermo Fisher Scientific Antibody Scholarship Program will award scholarships to eligible life science students, to be used for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Deadline on May 1, 2024 at 11:59:59 p.m. CT 

This Program will award one (1) $10,000 scholarship and five (5) $5,000 scholarships. 

Eligibility

Applicants must be individual persons who:

  1. will be a legal resident of the 50 U.S. states or District of Columbia as of August 14, 2024. For the purposes of these official rules, a legal resident is a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident or an international student that has a valid student visa to study in the U.S. DACA recipients are not eligible;
  2. will be age 18 or older as of August 14, 2024;
  3. are pursuing an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Students enrolled in certificate programs only are not eligible;
  4. are enrolled as a Student at an accredited U.S. college or university located in the 50 U.S. states or District of Columbia (see U.S. Dept. of Education Database at https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/ for Fall 2024; and
  5. have a declared major of biology, chemistry, biochemistry or a related life science field. Students with a declared major outside of the life sciences but are pursuing a life science minor are not eligible.


In addition, (i) Undergraduate Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, and those pursuing an Associate Degree must have cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale; (ii) Undergraduate Freshmen must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale; and (iii) Graduate Students must have a cumulative graduate GPA of > 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and have received cumulative undergraduate GPA of > 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Those who are actively working or have worked as a Healthcare Professional may not participate in this Program. 

  • The term Healthcare Professionals, for U.S. citizens and permanent residents, includes clinical or non-clinical physicians and physician assistants, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, research coordinators, administrators and purchasing personnel and entities (including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, home health agencies, clinics and group purchasing organizations, managed care organizations, physician group practices, medical directors for health insurance organizations) and their employees and representatives who are involved in the actual provision of health care services.
  • For international students, the term Healthcare Professionals may include “Any individual that in the course of their professional activities may directly or indirectly purchase, lease, recommend, administer, use, supply, procure or determine the purchase or lease of, or who may prescribe medical technologies or related services. It also includes individuals involved in research activity, not just those directly involved in the provision of healthcare services.”
  • Individuals who have received a medical degree (M.D. or D.O. or equivalent) or who are currently enrolled in a dedicated medical degree program may not participate in this Program.
  • MD/PhD candidates and students enrolled in undergraduate medical-related studies (i.e., pre-med) are eligible to participate in this Program.
  • US federal or state government employees may not participate in this Program.
