Description of Program:
The Rohr Family Research Scholar Award was established to provide endowed funding to outstanding scientists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. There is no specific research area associated with this RSA. Income from the RSA endowment will allow talented junior investigators the support needed to engage in advancing their research programs.
Number of awards: 1
Level of support: ~$50,000 /year for 3 years; with an opportunity for 3 additional years contingent on satisfactory progress.
Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for RSAs:
- Full-time Assistant or Associate Professor with an independent research program in basic/translational research. Clinical research programs are not eligible for Research Scholar Awards.
- Applicant cannot concurrently hold another internal endowed award.
Application Requirements
Nomination materials:
Internal nomination limit: Departments without divisions can submit up to 1 nomination. Departments with divisions may submit up to 1 nomination per division. Institutes and centers can submit up to 1 nomination per institute or center.
Nomination must include the following materials to be complete:
- Recommendation letter from the Department Chair/Division Head/Institute Director (1-2 pages)
- Statement from the nominee describing their research background, current research efforts, and future goals. This should also include a statement about how this award will help them to achieve their future research objectives. (1-2 pages)
- Updated Biosketch
