Purpose of the Research Support Grant:
The Research Support Grant is $75,000 per grant and is awarded to the institution. The purpose of the Research Support Grant is to:
- Further the development of scientific investigators who are committed to problems related to oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Foster inter-professional research collaborations.
- Encourage promising lines of basic, translational, and patient-oriented research consistent with the research priorities established by the specialty.
This is a one (1) year award with an opportunity for one (1) additional year of funding.
Review Procedures:
The awarding of OMS Foundation research grants are made entirely on the basis of merit after a rigorous review by the Committee on Research.
Research Support Grant Guidelines
1. The OMS Foundation Board of Directors will, at its sole discretion, select the Research Support Grant awardees from recommendations provided by its Committee on Research.
2. All eligible applications will be reviewed against previously established criteria determined by the Committee on Research and endorsed by the OMS Foundation Board of Directors.
3. The application will be evaluated on the basis of:
- Significance to the specialty
- Investigator
- Innovation
- Approach
- Environment
4. Please note that collaboration by a number of sites is strongly encouraged.
