Purpose
The Academy of Medical-Surgical Nursing (AMSN) provides three types of grants available for nursing research. Please review the eligibility criteria and other information below to see which grant is appropriate for you.
- Applicant must be
- A member of AMSN in good standing (except for the MSNCB Certification Research Grant).
- The principle investigator who is actively involved in some aspect of care, education, or research for the medical-surgical patient.
- Preference is given to a project that involves nurses in the design and implementation of the research activity that promote theoretically-based medical-surgical health practice.
- Grant recipient
- Will be expected to share how this award has advanced his/her professional practice.
- Will be expected to disseminate research findings to medical-surgical nursing such as an article in the MEDSURG Nursingjournal, poster presentation or breakout session at the AMSN convention, and other approved methods.
- Current members of the Board of Directors of AMSN, Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board, Scholarship & Awards Committee, Research Team and AMSN staff are not eligible to apply for research grants.
