Seeking Postdoctoral Fellow in Cell Metabolism/Signaling

A post-doctoral position is open in the Department of Ophthalmology, at Cornell University-Weill Medical College. Applications are welcome from highly motivated individuals with a PhD degree in Biochemistry or related areas, interested in basic and translational research on age-related macular degeneration. The specific goals of my lab are (i) to identify the signaling cascades and cellular clearance processes induced by cyclodextrins (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24706818); (ii) to test different cyclodextrin nanoparticle preparations in cell culture and mice models, using quantitative microscopy , HPLC and quantitative high-throughput assays, currently under development; (iiii) characterize the synergistic effect of modulators of lysosomal biogenesis and autophagy inducers in the cyclodextrin-mediated clearance process . The candidate must be a good team player, very well organized, with a self-driven attitude to solve experimental challenges and meet deadlines, with publication records and willing to work with mice. The ideal candidate will also have experience in cell culture, biochemistry (signaling transduction, HPLC) and molecular biology (RNAseq, shRNA, lentiviruses).
